General English Courses

Our General English classes use real-life materials and varied activities to cater to different learning abilities. We also offer an additional weekly session focusing on 21st-century skills. The programme includes language and culture-based lessons, with morning and afternoon options available Monday to Friday.

Business English

The Business English programme aims to improve communication skills for employability and successful business practices. It includes case studies, company visits, and workshops related to everyday business tasks. The program offers 20 or 15 hours per week and is available in the morning.

Young at Heart

The Young at Heart Programme is a 20-hour per week English tuition program that combines in-class and excursion-based learning experiences, tailored to mature students' interests and age group. The curriculum uses authentic English materials suitable for the students' level and includes themes and topics related to Ireland's history and culture. Students will also have the opportunity to socialize with like-minded peers from all over the world, and extra activities are available throughout the week.

Exam Preparation

Cambridge & IELTS

IH Dublin's Exam Preparation courses help students excel in recognized English proficiency exams, which can set them apart academically and professionally. The courses offer regular tutorials and mock exams, oral and written practice using authentic past exam papers, and real-life English language tasks and topics to develop practical academic skills. Students must pass an entrance test to ensure they are taking the exam best suited to their level, and are encouraged to register for their exam at least 5 weeks in advance. The Exam Preparation programmes for adults include Cambridge & IELTS, and offer 20 hours in the morning, 15 hours in the morning, or 15 hours in the afternoon, Monday to Friday.

Accommodation

The best way for students to practice their spoken English every day and experience Irish hospitality is by living in a homestay. The International House Accommodation team carefully selects host families who live in safe, residential areas easily accessible to IH Dublin via public transport. Homestay accommodation is available year-round, with half-board options and single, double, or twin rooms. Bed linens are provided, and students have access to laundry facilities once a week. Special diets can be accommodated, and private bathrooms are available for an additional fee, subject to availability.

IH Dublin provides high-quality, self-catering apartments year-round through partner providers in the city centre. These apartments are available to students aged 18 and above, and are easily accessible by public transport or walking to the school. All apartments offer single ensuite bedrooms, fully-equipped modern kitchens, comfortable living rooms, and free Wi-Fi. The residence facilities include a 24/7 concierge desk, gym and fitness studio, exclusive outdoor spaces, onsite café, laundry room, secure indoor bike storage, study lounge, cinema room, and a gaming area.

IH Dublin Social Programme

IH Dublin offers a weekly Social and Cultural Programme throughout the year with a range of exciting activities and trips for students to join. Students can sign up for any or all of the activities each week, which is a great way to make friends from around the world and experience Irish life.

IH Dublin Study Club

International House Dublin organises a series of interactive sessions to help students improve their English skills outside of the classroom. IH Dublin students can choose to attend and or all of the sessions offered, which focus on Conversation, Culture & Language, Pronunciation, Exam Strategies, and Guidance for Self-Study.

Welfare Support

A dedicated welfare officer is available to meet one-to-one with students on request, to provide support and advice regarding students’ personal welfare throughout their stay.
